Birthday Girl

We spread Abby's birthday celebrations over several days this year. Ryan blessed her on the morning of her birthday by helping her make her bed!

That evening we took her to the dinner of her choice...pizza. When we got home from dinner, she and I made her cake, and Abby really enjoyed licking the beaters and spatula! I usually ask the kids what kind of cake they want for their birthday, and this year Abby said she wanted a rainbow cake. I thought, great, that's easy enough, but when we were at the store buying some icing tint, she saw the Princess cake and really wanted that instead. So Mommy acquiesed and she ended up with a doll cake instead.

Friday we had cake and ice cream and she opened her presents. Ryan was so excited to give her his gift that he couldn't stand it. So we let her open his gift first thing Friday morning, and she loved it...a Polly Pocket car. She got mostly clothes, but she likes getting clothes (and she needed them), so she was thrilled.

Then on Saturday we took her to Oaks Amusement Park, a small local place that we had not been to before. It's kind of like a glorified fair, but Abby had a fantastic time!

She went on every ride she was tall enough to get on, and some she did several times. She went on things that I thought would surely scare her, but instead she came off the ride laughing and giggling and having the BEST time!

After the park closed (at 5:00) we headed to one of her favorite restaurants, Red Robin. We always get a free birthday burger, so Mommy and Daddy like it too. She got her birthday sundae and shared with Ryan. Then it was home to bed for one very tired four-year-old.

Sounds like a great few days of birthday celebrating!

Rachel gave Hannah that exact same Polly Pocket car for Christmas. It was a huge hit! LOL
