Update: Abby's morning blood sugar right after waking was 74, perfect. She actually ate an entire meal this morning of French Toast, sausage, and milk! This is the first full meal she has eaten since Monday (after which her blood sugar was a whopping 270). I tested again 45 minutes after breakfast, and her sugar was 188. I don't know what this means, but she seems to be having trouble absorbing the sugar she eats. The endocrinologist said that in a healthy child blood sugar stays in the range of 60-110, even after eating. She is still ill though, so maybe it's due to that. The good news is that she's gotten used to the finger pricks and doesn't fuss about them at all anymore...she's such a trooper!
Despite my hopes that we had seen that last of Abby's fevers, she awoke again this morning with another high fever. Though I still think she is progressing. The medicine seems to work more quickly and last longer. She almost made it completely through the night, waking at 4:50am today. That is the first time in a week she hasn't awakened between midnight and and 3:00am needing more medicine and water.
Thanks again for your prayers.

Ugh. I've been checking back for updates and just had to comment. Two steps forward, one step back. I'm so sorry you guys are suffering with this trial. May the Lord hold you up and show you His faithful hand at work. Sweet Abby is in His loving care, you are right. I will continue to pray for your strength and endurance for her healing. Much love to you all.
Thanks so much, Wendy.
