Making a Mountain Out of a Mole Hill

Weekend before last we needed to get out of the house. Abby had been sick for weeks and was finally feeling a little better, so we packed into the van and headed to Trojan Park, a nearby lake and park. We brought all the fishing gear, but mostly the kids just poked sticks into the water, collected leaves, and played. They found this abandoned mole hill and used the soft dirt to build a mountain...Mt. Hood, of course. We brought our ample supply of stale bread and crusts (I have been collecting it for months!) to feed the ducks and geese, and both kids had the best time doing that. Abby even fed a goose right from her hand, though I put a stop to that right away. Those geese are very aggressive!

(By the way, I was the only one who caught any fish...and I caught five! Though I must add that Daddy did all the baiting of hooks and removal of caught fish, and he reeled in one of "mine" too.)
