Urgent Care

Abby still has a fever today, and it seems like the Tylenol and/or Motrin aren't working quite as well as the last couple of days. We had to give her more doses again today, and the last one we gave her at 3:30 didn't bring her fever down for over two hours. I called her doctor after two hours because her fever was over 104 and still climbing. Of course it's Saturday and by the time the advice nurse called back her fever had climbed to 105. Since it had been more than two hours and her fever was still climbing, the nurse told us to take her to the emergency room.

However, by the time we got dressed and gathered some things, she seemed to be a little more perky. So I took her temp again and her fever was finally dropping. Or local urgent care was open for another 15 minutes, so we just took her there to have her checked over. I was hoping they would find something that would be causing her fever, but they again found absolutely nothing. They recommended not giving her the medicine as needed but every four hours whether she's feverish or not(alternating Tylenol and Motrin) to keep her fever down for the weekend.

On another lighter note, Ed thinks he has a head cold, and he asked Abby, "I'm sick. Will you take care of me?" Abby said, "No, I'm not the Mommy!" So I asked her, "Who takes care of Mommy when she's sick?" Abby said, "Daddy." Then Daddy asked her who would take care of Mommy and Daddy if both of us are sick, and she said, "Jesus!"
