Father's Day Activities

Instead of just buying Daddy gifts, we wanted to do some special things for him as well. We worked all day in the yard on Thursday to finish up the front side yard by spreading weed block and barkdust, as well as completing a few other things in the backyard that we hadn't gotten to yet. He was pleased and surprised when he came home and realized he didn't have to spend Father's Day doing yard work!

We usually make him cards instead of buying them, and we did again this year. The kids used their fingerprints to create pictures, and then we wrote our messages on them. While the paint was drying, we whipped up a batch of brownies for Daddy. I don't know why, but I seldom make brownies, though we all love them.

Now that we didn't have to do yard work on Sunday (Daddy had to work on Saturday), we went to Vernonia Lake to let Daddy do some fishing, feed the resident ducks and to enjoy a picnic. Abby did a little fishing, but mostly she and Ryan played on the playground.
