Golfing

We went miniature golfing for Ryan's birthday, and Abby was pretty excited...for about five holes! She typically doesn't like to do anything that's "hard," and she apparently found it a little too challenging for her taste. So she became the designated "caddy," meaning she pulled out the flag at each hole and held it until we were finished putting.

At one hole she was running to get the flag and tripped and fell on her tummy across a log. She got the wind knocked out of her and an ugly abrasion. Of course it didn't slow her down much once she got her breath back.

Though she didn't like the golfing, she loved the climbing/play structure! There were a lot of kids there, so we made Ryan and Abby be "buddies" while they were in the structure. They stuck together well, waiting for each other to catch up most of the time. At one point some boys helped them both over the barrier into the black diamond course which is only for older kids who can negotiate the ropes and obstacles well. Abigail was zooming through with no difficulties, including climbing an almost vertical eight-foot wall with a knotted rope! She looked like she had been doing it all her life. However, Ryan was struggling, so we made them retrace the course backwards so we could help them out. We stayed there for over four hours, and the kids still were not ready to leave.
