Christmas Stockings & More

Because we're in the middle of packing and moving, we decided to wait and do our main Christmas celebration after we move to our new house in a couple weeks. Our gift to the children is a little big and bulky, so we wanted to wait till we move to put it together, and Gramie will be here in a few weeks too and we can celebrate with some other family.

We did do stockings for the kids and allowed them to open the presents from Granpa and Grama Garner. I didn't hang the stockings until Christmas Eve in the afternoon, and it was the first thing Abby noticed when she got up from her nap! She got lots of goodies in her stocking, including this tiara she wore most of the rest of the day.

Abby's birthfather and his parents sent Abby some gifts as well, and we let her open those too. She loved the gift from Cody (her birthfather)! It is a puppy dog that needs to be adopted. It whines, moves his head, and wags his tail when you pet it. It comes with an adoption certificate, and a dog tag you can personalize. Abby named him Duke Duke, and she just adores her puppy. We were really touched by Cody's thoughtful gift.

Abby looks a little sad in this picture because we had told her that her puppy didn't have a home and needed someone to adopt him.

After we told her she's the one who gets to love and adopt the puppy, this was her reaction...a great big squeeze!
