Abby's Day

We have a special day every year for Abby where we celebrate the day her adoption was finalized. Though the "official" day was September 18, we just couldn't find anything special to do that weekend, so we just decided to wait. Well, we ended up celebrating it last night. The Lion King came to Portland this month, and we knew that Abigail would LOVE it. We took her to dinner at the Macaroni Grill before the performance, and she behaved like a little lady! She even made me so proud when she chose strawberries over ice cream for dessert.

Ed ended up getting box seats (awesome seats!) for the same price as the nosebleed cheap seats because they had a lot left that were designated for handicapped and they knew they wouldn't sell them all! Once the show began, Abby sat absolutely transfixed. She loved it!! I'm so glad we waited for just the right thing for her because her enjoyment of it and our enjoyment watching her was well worth the money!

Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures in the auditorium and were told they would delete or confiscate them if we did (gotta love Disney), but the kind usher allowed me to snap a quick one of her in her seat as long as the camera was pointed away from the copyrighted curtain.

It is amazing to me as well. She fell asleep in our bed the other night and as I picked her up to move her to her bed, she suddenly just seemed huge to me. When did she get so big?
