Our Little Trooper

Today we took the kids to one of my all time favorite spots in our area, the Columbia Gorge. We needed to find a temporary retreat from the heat down in the valley, and the waterfalls in the Gorge are always quite cool. My husband and I have never hiked all the way to the top of the biggest fall, Multnomah, so we weren't quite sure what to expect and whether our kiddies could make it.

They really surpassed my expectations, especially Abby. They both hiked the entire way themselves without being carried (over a 600 foot incline in one mile). There were grown men and women who turned back without making it. We are so proud of both of them, but I am just amazed at how well our little girl did today. She even found energy once we got to the top to jump around and dance with Ryan and another little girl she made friends with.
